In this message, “The Keys,” we explore Jesus’ words in Matthew 16:18–19: “I will build My church” and “I will give you the keys of the kingdom.” The Church belongs to Jesus, and He is ultimately the One who builds it, but He has entrusted His people with the responsibility and authority to carry the Gospel, make disciples, serve others, and advance the Kingdom of God. This message explores what it means to steward the keys God has placed in our hands, why the Church is still here after more than 2,000 years, and how God works through imperfect people to accomplish His mission. We don’t have to be perfect or have everything figured out before God can use us. As we surrender our time, talents, treasure, and testimony to Jesus, He builds His Church through us—and at the same time, He is building us.
